Day 862

To say that this week, and its still not ended, has been extremely stressful, chaotic and the kind which would make you just throw the towel in the ring, would be saying quite a bit.
I want to start by mentioning of a very sad incident which happened on Saturday evening. This one does not directly impact me nor is it about anyone I know personally, but it would ensure some soul searching.
There was a Division B football match being played in Pescara in Italy. A 25 year young footballer, Piermario Morosini, collapsed while playing and before he could reach the hospital, he was pronounced Dead. The reason for his death was a Cardiac Arrest. Now footballers, Specially the europeans and South Americans have some amazing stamina and fitness level. So for a 25 year footballer dying of a cardiac arrest seems very unusual. But i figured what would have happened. I am no doctor but i am pretty sure my analysis wont be wrong. Piermario's mum died when he was 15 and dad passed away when he was just 17. He was left behind with a Mentally Challenged brother and a physically disabled elder sister. Shortly after his parents died, his brother committed suicide (with a history of drug abuse as well). I am pretty sure the cause of Piermario's cardiac arrest was stress.
And if you read some of my earlier blogs, you would come across another sportsperson who passed away(And this was someone i knew on a professional basis) due to stress.
Well, after finishing my blog on Sunday, i called it a night. As i had mentioned, i was going to have a real long week. On monday i had to got to the bank to deposit some cheques and then had to go to lamington road to get a USB modem for my PC. I thought work at office would be relaxing since we had managed to bring our much pending work online. However, there was one source which was still lagging behind a month and my manager had no choice but to put me there. Somehow, i managed to scrape through the day.
I also saw a movie - See This Movie - A comedy Docudrama. Nice watch. Tuesday was another busy day. Had to visit a travel shop in order to do some bookings for my mid summer vacations (the place, i will disclose soon) and then had to collect my car from repairs. That took nearly half the day. When i went to work, the stuff that had come online last week, all of a sudden had unprecedented amount of new work that had piled in. Even with the most optimum speed, we couldnt bring it online. In cricketing terms, it meant that we had to chase a total of 1800 and despite the fact that i hit a triple century, and 2 colleagues hit over 250 runs and there were 2 half centurions, we still couldnt get close to the target.
The same situation happened on Wednesday. On tuesday night - Wednesday early morning, sat up with scrooge to watch the 1st leg of the Semi-Finals. Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid. 2 very tough teams. Of course, since it was played in the Allianz Arena, Munich would have all the support. And they wona  thriller 2-1 with a last minute goal coming from Gomez. The only reason why Real Madrid didnt win was due to the number of fouls they committed and over half a dozen yellow cards they got.
Wednesday seemed as a very very very long day. I had to meet someone to get some documents and that person was kind of late because all of a sudden the Central Railway Locals were running at a snail's speed and most of the trains were cancelled. The reason being - A sudden fire in the electrical signals near Kurla (Which is a very important transit station in the city's local railway). Since i had a car, i didnt have any issues reaching where i want, but over half the city's population was stranded. There were, as usual, no announcements on delays, no arrangements made for the stranded commuters (Many of them were students going to give university exams). This comes just a couple of days after the city's autorickshaw(3 wheeled cab) go on a one day strike, again leaving 70% of the city stranded with no transport.
This should have been a once in a blue moon thing but having born and bought up in this city, it seems that this is actually BAU(Business as Usual). The civic authorities dont have any disaster management skills or devices. And the best part is, people just shrug and continue with their lives.
And dont blame the people. We pay our taxes and we expect the civic authorities and the government to do their job well. If Wednesday was anything to go by, they havent done their jobs well. And no matter which government gets chosen, its the same thing day after day after day.
I will not be surprised if there is a rebel and very soon some prominent location in the city would become a Tahir Square.
The attendance at office, as expected, was very low. And suddenly, work which had not come for the last 2 days, piled up. Well, i couldnt do much. So i shrugged and went about doing my work as routinely as possible.
The heat has got in to me. While travelling in the morning, i felt, very rare for me, very nausea tic. I didnt feel like having lunch when i came home. So just had some light snacks before leaving for office. In the night Scooge and me sat to watch another tough Semi Final. Chelsea vs Barcelona. Now traditionally, Barcelona would have won the match hands down. And Scrooge and me have always been Anti-English teams so even we were routing for a Barca win. But Chelsea, and hats off to that team, played superbly. They won 1-0 at home. And it had to be an outstanding goal by their usual suspect Drogba. Lionel Messi, from Barca, played really well but Chelsea, clearly, played the better game.
I had a very bad headache in the night and when i woke up in the morning, it seemed like a hangover. I am in no mood to go to work, but somehow i am dragging myself.

And i will not leave without dedicating this one to my beloved...

I don’t love you as if you were a rose of salt, topaz,
or arrow of carnations that propagate fire:
I love you as one loves certain obscure things,
secretly, between the shadow and the soul.

I love you as the plant that doesn’t bloom but carries
the light of those flowers, hidden, within itself,
and thanks to your love the tight aroma that arose
from the earth lives dimly in my body.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where,
I love you directly without problems or pride:
I love you like this because I don’t know any other way to love,
except in this form in which I am not nor are you,
so close that your hand upon my chest is mine,
so close that your eyes close with my dreams.
