Day 541

Had a real busy busy 2 days. With the car going in to repairs, had to check what all has gone wrong. From the alternator needing repairs, car battery needing a change, the luggage compartment door needing repairs, the wiper motor needed to be fixed and the door rubber holding needed to be adjusted. I am sure this will cost a bomb, but what needs to be done, needs to be done. Again had some paperwork to be completed before i left for office. Work was routine. At around 8:30 PM, a colleague had to rush home due to a death in the family. The reason why i want to write this is because the person who died was in his mid 40s. He had Jaundice. And, being a cop, he probably had to be on duty and the stress, sadly, took a toll on the liver. Its sad that more than old age, its stress which is killing everyone. Was chatting with a friend online who just informed that she has got a job as a kindergarten school teacher. Feeling genuinely happy for her. If you are reading this, there is a treat pending. Today morning, again had to leave early for some paperwork. Grrrrrrrr. This time,  i had to reach the great Life Insurance Corporation Of India's office. Now, please dont get me wrong. The LIC, is India's premiere Insurance company. With Assets and business worth over Indian Rupees 1 Trillion, it has bailed the government out, silently, countless times during economic crisis. With an overall claim ratio of nearly 99%, it can be easily vouched as the best Insurance Company in the world. I have seen 2 deaths in my own family and not once i have had any issues with getting the claim amount from them(And trust me, these were really huge amount of money). But today, something irked me big time. The counter to accept cheques was supposed to open at 10:45 AM. As a matter of fact, 2 counters were supposed to be opened. There were 3-4 people standing ahead of me, probably since 10:45. Only 1 counter opens and that too at 11:15AM. Had to wait nearly 30 minutes to submit the cheque, which ideally shouldnt have taken more than a minute and i had other things to do as well. Sadly, this is one part where such a prestigious organization lets itself down big time, only because its handled by the Government. I dare, anyone of them to give this kind of service in the private sector. I also wish, that the online payment option, was more open and user friendly. Anyways, that was the end of that. It was, miserably hot, these last 2 days. I am afraid, more than anything, this extreme heat will screw my new E-7 and i will need to buy a protective cover soon. Work was routine, and i finally got a good hang of the systems and the process. And my productivity has slowly and steadily shown an increase in the last couple of days. I am only hoping, the trend continues. And now, i must sleep.

And before i go, would like to wish, one of the finest film makers, a great human being and a personal idol....a very happy Birthday.

Clint Eastwood - You rock and your movies rock more!!! 81 years young...

And for my beloved....

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

  1. You may know that you need Life insurance over 50 , but they put it out because you think it is too complicated or too long. Let us help you make the right purchasing decision.
