Day 501

Another day, another set of tasks to do. In the morning, i had to start early and reach an uncle's house to give some copies of property documents. Being well versed and highly experienced in dealing with all kind of property issues, and being the eldest amongst all my dad's brothers and cousins, it made more sense to have him come up with some proper channel on how to deal with mum's property issues. Then went to the bank to get some of the PPF work channelized. Still have to wait for a couple of days for things to fall in place so thats fine. Met with another one of my dad's cousin and we discussed how all of us are sailing in the same boat where paper work is concerned. With me, it was in case of a death of a family member and with him, it was to get the address change notifications to be given to so many financial institutions as he has moved residence after nearly 40 years. And one wont believe the number of organizations that one has to notify. The Ration Card Office, The Passport Office, Each and every Bank where one has a bank account, fixed deposit account or a safe deposit locker, Life Insurance Companies, Mediclaim companies, Car Insurance companies, all companies where you have shares, debentures, mutual funds or fixed deposits, post office (in case you have a fixed deposit), the school and college(as there are kids around)..and i am sure lots more. And in all these cases you need to show them proof of residency and to acquire the proof takes time and effort and to notify all of them takes equal time. Another chunk of time goes in noting all the places where you actually need to notify and that can take atleast 4-5 days.
The lesson learned in all of this, is to ensure you keep a monthly track of all these things and ensure you have all the details like their folio numbers, account numbers and customer care help line numbers(if any) in place so that in times like these, it becomes slightly easy to note it down.
I came home and thought i would head for the gym but i was so tired and had a severe headache so i just took a quiet nap in the afternoon. Read newspapers for a while in the evening and then went, again, to my uncle's place for dinner and to chat with my grandfather.
Well everyone, tomorrow, i will be leaving for Dubai. That is the plan that i had for this week. Since Scrooge is in Dubai for his work and since it will be the easter weekend, we decided to spend some time together so that it can be a much needed break from the hectic stuff that all of us had to go through due to the recent tragedy in the family.
I hope i will be able to update the blog from there, but in case i can not, i will surely update it once i am bag and i will ensure i click lots of pictures to upload.

And for my love......

Here I love you.
In the dark pines the wind disentangles itself.
The moon glows like phosphorous on the vagrant waters.
Days, all one kind, go chasing each other.

The snow unfurls in dancing figures.
A silver gull slips down from the west.
Sometimes a sail. High, high stars.

Oh the black cross of a ship.
Alone.
Sometimes I get up early and even my soul is wet.
Far away the sea sounds and resounds.
This is a port.
Here I love you.
Here I love you and the horizon hides you in vain.
I love you still among these cold things.
Sometimes my kisses go on those heavy vessels
that cross the sea towards no arrival.
I see myself forgotten like those old anchors.
The piers sadden when the afternoon moors there.
My life grows tired, hungry to no purpose.
I love what I do not have. You are so far.
My loathing wrestles with the slow twilights.
But night comes and starts to sing to me.

The moon turns its clockwork dream.
The biggest stars look at me with your eyes.
And as I love you, the pines in the wind
want to sing your name with their leaves of wire.

Good night everyone....
