Day 337 - Les Paris Diaries

Woke up kind of late as i didnt have to go for the final part of my trip till late afternoon. Had a nice breakfast..and this was the last breakfast at the hotel. Then i went shopping for cheese and chocolates at the local supermarket. :) :) :)
In the afternoon, headed for the Louvre. It was raining and windy and cold yet again. But was still enjoying the weather. And a perfect time to dig in to some amazing veg stuff at the Cafe just 5 minutes away. The louvre, is one of the largest museums in the world. It was originally build as a palace and later was the Royal Palace of Napoleon - III. The building consists of Basement, Ground, 1st and 2nd floor. In all the area is 60600 Square meters and has so many artifacts, paintings, antique furniture, sculptures etc that it would take one atleast 3 months(thats what the guide told me) to cover each and every one of them.

But i managed to see the more popular stuff. Some of the pics i have taken are displayed below.

                                                          The Sphinx

Statue of Diana - Goddess of The Night and Hunting.

By Far the largest painting in the louvre. Has to be atleast 24 X 18 Feet.

The World Famous - Mona Lisa

Me, posing in front of the largest painting in Louvre
The famous painting - Coronation Ceremony of Napoleon - I

The Banquet Hall of Napoleon - III

So after, what seemed like a long day, at the louvre, i left in the evening. Shopped for some stuff there and then headed straight for the hotel. Freshened up, had some dinner and then headed straight for bed.
